This policy covers Sinhela Keyboard for HarmonyOS phones and tablets, and Sinhela Keyboard for Windows. In short: what you type stays on your device. Sinhela Chat has its own policy.
Sinhela Keyboard for phones and tablets (HarmonyOS)
The keyboard works fully on your device. It asks for no permissions and has no internet access, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
What you type is used only to show Sinhala word suggestions while you type. It is not stored as a record of your typing and is never sent to us or anyone else.
Your settings, the words you add yourself and the words it learns from your choices are kept only on your device. You can clear learned words in the keyboard app, and everything is removed when you uninstall it.
Password, PIN and number fields get no suggestions, and nothing is learned from them.
Sinhela Keyboard for Windows
Typing works offline. What you type, your settings, your own words and learned choices stay on your PC, in your Windows user folder (%AppData%\Sinhela Keyboard). You can clear learned words in Settings, and delete that folder at any time.
Password boxes are left alone: nothing typed in them is converted or learned.
The only time the app goes online is to check for a new version, at most once a day, at chat.sinhela.com. That request contains the app version and nothing you type. You can turn it off in Settings, General.
Downloading from sinhela.com
To download the Windows keyboard you sign in with a Sinhela account. When you download, we record your account email, the version, the date and time, your country (from your network address), your device type and the page language. We use this to count downloads and to support you, and we do not sell it.
Children
The keyboards collect nothing from anyone, including children. A Sinhela account for the download is subject to the Sinhela Chat policy.
